A BELIEVER IN THE GATHERING OF UNBELIEVERS

A BELIEVER IN THE GATHERING OF UNBELIEVERS

Our bible reading is taken from the book of Proverbs 29:9 which states, “If a wise man contend with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest”.

Believers, I have come to realize that many of us after accepting the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit are still attending churches founded by human doctrines. It is not a bad thing associating ourselves with family and friends. But it is dangerous if our views and expressions are not accepted in their gatherings.

Our study text is saying that there is no happiness (rest) for a believer (wise man) who contends with unbeliever (foolish man). This justifies the proverb that, a cockroach is not innocent in the gathering o fowls.

This situation is tottering the faith of believers who are fellowshipping with unbelievers. Since we are with them all the time while they spreading their false hood, we become tensed up and weary in faith. That is why Solomon said whether we rage or laugh, there is no rest for us in their gathering.

As believers, our sole duty is to spread the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit. So if we found ourselves in an uncomfortable environment that does not allow us to spread our faith, then Solomon will say, be not among unbelievers (winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh) (Proverbs 23:20).

Paul said in 1 Cor 5:6 that our glorying (the honour that we give to God) is not good, because we are still being fed with the Law which will pollute the Grace of God fulfilled for us. So believers must be careful fellowshipping with unbelievers else will be corrupted. Or we will be like the scribes and the Pharisees who sit in Moses seat and preach the Law of Moses but never do what they teach (Matt 23:2-3).

The most dangerous part is a believer who holds a position in churches of unbelievers. We know that these churches are regulated by man-made doctrines. Their programmes and massages are pre-determined by individuals or selected groups to tune their agendas. So how does a believer execute such functions as a leader in such a church?

Apostle Paul told the Colossians in 3:9-10 “Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him”.

But some believers have turned to be liars and pretenders in the churches of unbelievers, preaching unworthy doctrines and singing blasphemous songs. We must take this very seriously. Jesus Himself said in Luke 9:62 that no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

So if a believer is a Sunday school teacher, choir leader, prayer group leader, and the likes in an unbelieving church and his or her activities are controlled by human doctrines, then that believer has let hold of the plough and is not fit for the kingdom of God.

Another worse thing is to be an MC of an unbelieving church coordinating their unbelieving activities. Example collecting their tithes and offering and misquoting bible verses to support their corrupt and rubbery practices.

It is better to forsake the gathering of the unbelievers to live long and go in the way of understanding (Proverbs 9:6), than to hides hatred with lying lips, and utter a slander to be a fool (Proverbs 10:18),

Let me ask, how many unbelievers have received your massage in the church you are attending?

Fellow believers, the best way to attach is to defend your position, but you cannot be a team player in an unbelieving church and attack them. They will see you as part of them and consider you as immature Christian. Even Jesus was driven out of Nazareth and you have forced yourself to be among the unbelievers. Why do you think God told Abraham to leave his father’s house? The reason is that Abraham will not be confortable there after he met God.

Gen 2:24 reads, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh”. So if we are married to God through the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit, then we must leave the house of the Law and move to the house of Grace.

Believers, we are trying our best, but some of us are wasting our precious time fishing in dried seas. Jesus said in Mark 6:4 that a prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house.

Therefore Jesus provided an answer to Mark 6:4 in Matthew 10:23 that when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man come.

Beloved, flee from the unbelievers before you become an unbeliever. (Cor. 10:14)

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches (believers) (Rev 3:6,13,22).
AMEN.
